Message from the Head Boy
When it was announced that I was the Head Boy of St. Martin’s in 2024, I was over the moon. Becoming Head Boy was like being handed the reins of a wild stallion – a role demanding strength and finesse. Despite the challenges, I remained determined to propel St. Martin’s to its greatest heights.
My experience was both exhilarating and daunting, like standing on a cliff’s edge, ready to soar yet aware of the steep drop. The weight of responsibility settled on my shoulders like a heavy mantle, but I knew I had to take the bull by the horns.
Each day felt like running a marathon, not a sprint, as I balanced academics, leadership duties, and the expectations of peers and teachers. I strived to fulfill my promise to dispel unfavorable perceptions surrounding the school. I hope I’ve done justice to St. Martin’s.
This wonderful school has trained and shaped my character. I’ve always felt like the stone, with St. Martin’s as the sculptor.
Anashe Chihoro (Headboy 2024)

Message from the Head Girl
Being Head Girl was akin to carrying a torch, illuminating the path for others while navigating the shadows of responsibility. At St. Martin’s, we take pride in fostering a strong sense of community, where every student is encouraged to contribute their voice and talents.
This vibrant environment motivated me to serve my peers and create a positive impact within our school. As Head Girl, my role extended beyond representing the student body to maintaining order and discipline. I collaborated closely with prefects, bridging the gap between them and the administration.
Together, we strived to create a safe, respectful environment where everyone could thrive. I ensured our school’s standards were upheld, addressed concerns, and supported prefects in their duties.
My tenure as Head Girl has been transformative, shaping my primary school years and character. I’ve learned leadership is not just about authority but about being a guiding light. Kindness and understanding foster collaboration and respect.
As the saying goes, “You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.” Like a tree growing tall, I can support others while reaching for my goals. This role has taught me I have the potential to grow and inspire.
I aspire to carry these lessons forward, knowing the impact one person can have. Thank you.
Elaine Mapuranga (Headgirl 2024)
