Welcome to our Infants Department
At St. Martin's Convent School, the Infants Department lays the cornerstone of a child's educational journey. Empowered by smart choices, we ignite a love for learning through our guiding philosophy: 'Discover the Magic of Learning.'
Our dedicated educators and support staff create a nurturing environment that sparks curiosity, creativity, and growth. Recognizing the pivotal role of early childhood development (ages 3-8), we tailor our programs to meet unique needs.
Every moment presents an opportunity for discovery, from sensory exploration to social skills development. We understand that early childhood education sets the stage for future success. Our holistic approach cultivates intellectual, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual growth, laying the foundation for a lifetime of learning.
ECD A
The ECD A class is made up of two groups, Daisy and Lemon. At this stage, learners are introduced to the basic concepts of the two syllabi and nurtured in various areas.
ECD B
In ECD B, we have two groups: ECD B Daisy and ECD B Lemon. At this level, learners are introduced to new concepts, and by the end of the level, they will be able to write their names and count numbers.
Grade 1
In Grade 1, our two classes build upon the foundational skills acquired in earlier years. Learners at this stage are expected to read and write proficiently, perform basic mathematical calculations, and develop problem-solving skills. Additionally, they will begin to demonstrate critical thinking and reasoning abilities, laying the groundwork for future academic success.
Grade 2
In Grade 2, our infant school learners reach a critical milestone. They are expected to showcase their advanced abilities, solving complex problems, creating engaging stories, and reading fluently in both indigenous languages and English. Furthermore, they will demonstrate innovative thinking by designing basic solutions to real-world problems. By the end of this stage, our learners will have solidified their foundational skills, ensuring a smooth transition to junior school.
